This interior decorating is tough stuff, but the crib has been ordered and the bedding selected. I think E and I found the perfect crib. If you remember, E's gave me clearance to decorate the nursery and I really wanted a create a cozy, functional and modern-looking room for Baby White. So after a lot of searching and some recommendations from E's friends, we landed on a great crib. It's going to take the manufacturer a few weeks to make it, but we should have it in the next 6 - 8 weeks. The picture isn't exact, but Baby White's is the same model. We actually went with a white crib with darker accent wood. We only got the changing table and crib due to the size of the room, but we're happy. Now I just need to find a good nursing chair for E.
Finding the bedding wasn't easy either, but I think we settled on something we both like. We wanted the colors to be bold and vibrant. E actually picked out the bedding. Note to future Dads--If you're in charge of the decorating make sure you take the color paint chips with you when looking for bedding and furniture. Coming up with a theme for the room is also a good idea. Just trust me on this. Believe it or not, not knowing the sex of the baby really didn't hurt our choices. You can actually select bedding by boy, girl and neutral.
I know there are a million things that we're going to need over the next few weeks, months and years for that fact, but getting these few things out of the way really feels good.
