Silly Baby Tricks

See what happens when a little free time and a video camera collide.

Today NJ had her 1 year check up at the pediatrician's office. Looks like she growing fast (Like we needed a $20 Co-Pay and a visit to the doctors to figure that out). We met a very friendly 20 month old girl in the waiting room and NJ was significantly bigger than her. The doctor said, "What are you going to do, you and E are both big people and NJ is just following suit." She weighed in at 24.8 lbs and was 32 inches long. Her head was 19" in circumference. I've always heard about baby percentiles, but I never quite understood them until now. Here's how our NJ stacks up:

Length = above percentile 95
Weight = between percentile 90 and 95
Head Circumference = above percentile 95

So less than 5% of babies are longer. Only 5 to 10% are heavier and less than 5% have a greater head circumference. What can I say...our daughter has a big head :)
