For today's entry I think it's important for us to all remember those brave souls that have given their lives in the defense of the country that we all hold so dear. Between all of the sales circulars, ads for furniture, mattresses, cars, etc. it is some times easy to forget why we all have the day off in the first place. We owe those that have died protecting our country a huge debt. Our very best wishes and prayers go out to the families who have lost loved ones.
It would seem that this weekend E and I did something many Americans did not. We got in the car and drove. Early reports say that due to rising gas prices, more Americans stayed closer to home this Memorial Day Weekend than in previous years. We packed up the car and headed down to Richmond on Sunday for what is quickly becoming a ritual for our family...my friend's Annual Memorial Day Cookout. Fitting that he would have a Memorial Day Party because in the over 20 years that I've known him, we've been through our share of wars together. Although our battles were with beer and not bullets.
It's always great to see him and his wife. He has two kids that adore NJ and I'm sure the feeling is mutual. Attached are a few pictures from our adventure. I hope everyone had a safe and relaxing break.

P.S. My friend is the one on the left in the group shot for those of you who don't already know him. Those other jokers are guys I've know since college.
