Sláinte

Greeting from Ireland!

My apologies for the the sporadic new blog posts. Life has been a bit hectic towards the end of the year with the business, family, etc. That being said an update on the White Family is long overdue so let's get to it.

Baby White II

Everyone will be happy to hear that Baby White II is progressing very nicely. E is about 13 weeks along. Last week we had an ultrasound and we got the hear the baby's heartbeat for the very first time. Baby White II's heartbeat rate was at 162 beats a minute which is in the right range. BWII is approximately 3 inches in length. No determination yet on the sex, but E and I are opting to wait until the birth to find out. We think it's one of the world's last great surprises and we don't plan on spoiling it.

We also went in for something new this time around... Genetic Testing. Apparently now you can sit down with a genetic tester to review your family's health history to determine if your child may be a candidate for certain diseases. Although everything turned out fine, I'm not certain that I like having all of the information regarding what the likelihood is of our child being born with some illness like Downs Syndrome. I understand the whole ability to plan thing, but I think that some things are left best unknown. E and I decided a long time ago that as long as our child is viable we would never terminate a birth. So there you have it I guess.

The due date is July 7th. So stay tuned.

Christmas

Was a blast. We hope everyone had a Merry one. I've attached a few pictures of NJ for everyone's viewing pleasure.

Ireland or Bust!

E and I planned to take a vacation a few months ago to reconnect with one another sans NJ. We ended up heading to Ireland for a little R&R while NJ is with her Grandparents in NJ. So far it's been a great trip. Through a little shrewd negotiating I was able to get us upgraded to First Class on the trip over free of charge which was nice. We ventured into Dublin today to take the Guinness Beer Factory Tour and then we landed in the oldest pub in Ireland for a few pints.

I've attached a lot of of photos from the past few weeks so enjoy. If we don't talk in the next few days E, NJ, Baby White II and I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year!

P.S. Sláinte is Irish for good health in case you were wondering.
