Just a few pictures from the weekend. I was actually in Jacksonville on Saturday working to help clean up a place called the Sanctuary. It's a non-profit with the mission of helping and educating poverty stricken kids. The kids have challenges that most of us could only imagine. Many of the kids have one parent and in some cases no parents at all. Their neighborhoods are crime and drug-infested. Their schools are failing and life seemingly offers little opportunity other than a life of crime. The Sanctuary is changing that. I saw two examples of kids who probably would have ended up incarcerated or dead that are now on the path to college with full scholarships.
This isn't a plea for money, but just a simple reminder of how blessed most of us are. I see my wife and our two beautiful children. This weekend made me take note of the good things that we've been provided by family, friends and the good Lord.
A woman said to me while I was conducting one of my interviews "To those that much is given, much is not only expected...It's required.
