Love Trifecta

Today's post is for all the fellas (Ladies can feel free to read on too).

Overall I'd like to think of myself as a pretty regular guy if there is such a thing. I grew up in a fairly normal family. Played sports. Hung out with friends. Went to college and got a job. Ultimately I fell in love, got married, bought a house, started a business and settled down in the 'burbs.

I've dated along the way. Looking back on it all I never really had any super serious relationships. I couldn't buy a date in high school. College was different for the better. I had some fun and some success with girls when I lived in Miami, but eventually I moved to the Northeast where I met E.

For all of my life's experiences in my 36 years nothing can compare to what I like to call my "Love Trifecta"

The Webster's Dictionary defines "love" as an intense feeling of deep attraction. It also defines "trifecta" as a run of three wins or grand events. (Dad/PJ-We all know your definition) My Love Trifecta has to do with the 3 times that I've felt intense love for my wife E.

Now guys I can't say that you all will experience the "Love Trifecta" at the same time or in the same order, but it's a pretty safe bet that you will experience it. For me I can clearly remember all of the times that I felt the greatest love for my wife. They are as follows:

Number 3 The day I asked E to marry me and she said, "YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!"
Number 2 The day we got married and I heard those 5 words from our Pastor "You may kiss the bride."
Number 1 The day we learned that E was pregnant and everyday since then.

Guys I'm here to tell you that if you thought you were in love with your wife when you got married you haven't seen anything yet. Once you realize that she's going to be the mother of your children your love is going to grow exponentially. You're going to find yourself just wanting to spend time with your wife and somehow everything else just got a lot less important. And this is coming from a guy who's wife is barely showing. I don't know if it's hormones, phermones or what, but it's definitely intense. I can only imagine what a mess of emotions I'm going to be when Baby White actually arrives on the scene. I guess I'm going to have to come up with a new term by then. Maybe "Love Superfecta" (Dad/PJ-You feel me?)
