This entry is for all the women out there and particularly for one very special lady...my wife. This morning we came into the hospital for the version and unfortunately it didn't work. Fortunately it appears that Baby White didn't have any adverse effects from the procedure. As of right now we're still in the hospital waiting for the effects of the muscle relaxant to wear off so that E and I can go home. It looks like we're going to have the C-section on Monday at around 11:45 in the morning. Baby White's birthday is going to be April 9th, 2007. WOW!
The reason I named today's entry "New Respect" is because I truly have new respect for women and mothers everywhere. For current Moms I want you to know that I respect the sacrifices that you have to make to share your body with a some times unruly tenant for 9 months. Not to mention the pokes, the prods as well the seemingly ubiquitous and total disregard for your privacy and personal space. Today I watched doctors and nurses, interns and students hover and glare at my wife while she endured some serious pain from needles and the attempted turning of the Baby White. E was a real trooper through the whole thing. Everyone has told me that once you watch your wife give birth you discover a whole new love. I think I got a big taste of that today.
So everything is cool. We're going to be parents on Monday and life is getting crazier by the minute.
