Some of you regular visitors may have recently noticed the addition of a few ad banners on the right hand side of the blog. The ads are for offers from companies that I have personally bought or considered buying products from in the past. I've placed them there as a way to generate some income for baby white's college fund. According to American Century Investor, the cost of a newborn's four year college education will run somewhere between $161,000 and $313,000 depending on whether they opt for in-state or a private college. If the kid gets my wife's brains, the White Family checkbook is definitely going to be feeling the pinch around 2025.
The way the ad banners work is that every time you click on one of the ads, visit the corresponding site and buy something, Baby White gets a commission on that sale. It's that easy. All of the companies are really cool. My favorites are ITunes and Netflix. ITunes now allows you to download movies via the Internet and Netflix delivers DVD movies to your doorstep in about a day. 1-800-Flowers has gotten me out of a couple of binds and I've also been happy with my purchases on Overstock.com.
