115 Days Left and Counting

Today we had our third ultrasound and everything looks good. In fact the first words out of our tech's mouth this morning was "You've got a big baby in there!" With Elizabeth standing at 5' 10" and me at almost 6' 4" odds are the baby will be no small fry. We're still early in the pregnancy (23 weeks 4 days), but it looks like Baby White is weighing in at 1 lb 6 oz. All the measurements of Baby White's parts were right in line with where they should be and Baby White's heartbeat was swooshing along at 131 beats a minute. The baby has grown so much since our last visit that the ultrasound can't pick up a full picture of the baby all at once. We only got to see each individual part at any one time. Unfortunately, Baby White wasn't cooperating with us this morning so I couldn't get any really good shots. Baby White was crossing his arms in front of his face like he was hiding from the camera. We did get to see his face, feet, legs, arms, hands, heart, spine, kidneys, stomach, brain, bladder and his teeth if you can believe that. We could actually see them forming in the gums! I've attached some pictures of the baby's face and brain for your viewing pleasure.

We could have found out the sex of Baby White today, but we've both opted to be surprised. I have to admit that I was peeking around trying to find out. My money was on a boy, but now I'm thinking there might be a mini E in there versus a mini D.

Both mother and father are doing great. E is really starting to feel the baby moving around. Apparently Baby White is a Barry White and (early) Michael Jackson fan. On two occasions when songs by both artists came on, Baby White started shaking and moving all around. Finally maybe someone in our family will get some rhythm.

Our due date got moved up to April 13th. So the countdown is on.
